Vintage calfskin doesn't want to look new. Its surface already carries a memory — that of leather patiently worked, allowed to breathe, treated to last and transform over time. The brown of this strap is not a color chosen to please everyone: it is the color of leather that ages well, of an accessory that improves with wear.
The ecru stitching discreetly breaks up the brown surface. It doesn't decorate — it defines. That light thread tells the story of the saddler's hand, the stitch by stitch that holds the two layers of leather together. The strap is made in Italy, from vintage calfskin, and has a restrained thickness that makes it suitable for thin watches as well as more structured cases.
It's a strap that isn't immediately noticeable. You appreciate it after a few weeks, when it has conformed to your wrist and the color has begun to deepen in the folded areas. This is its character.

It softens to your wrist.
It starts firm and, week after week, takes the shape of your wrist. The surface grows warmer to the touch, the colour gains depth where the light hits it. No plastic on top: leather that ages honestly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does vintage calfskin develop a patina over time or does it retain its original appearance?
Vintage calfskin is treated precisely to evolve with use. The areas of folding and contact progressively darken, while the surface acquires a natural lustre. This is not a flaw — it is the expected behaviour of a quality leather. After a few months of regular wear, the strap will have an appearance that cannot be replicated artificially.
Is the ecru stitching functional or purely aesthetic?
Both, but in the right order: functional first. The ecru stitch sews together the layers of leather along the edge, contributing to the structural solidity of the strap. The visual effect — the contrast between the light thread and the brown leather — is a consequence of the craftsmanship, not a decorative addition.
With a thickness of 3.5mm, is this strap also suitable for watches with a slim case?
Yes, 3.5mm is a measured thickness — neither too rigid to slide under a low case, nor so thin as to appear fragile. It works well with dress watches from the 1960s and 1970s, but it also holds up with contemporary medium-sized cases. Choosing the right width among the five available options does the rest.
How do I choose the right width among the available options?
The size indicated is always lug width × width at the buckle: the first value must correspond to the distance between the lugs of your watch. For example, 20mm × 16mm means 20mm at the attachment and 16mm at the closure — a classic taper that gives proportion to the wrist. If you are unsure of the lug measurement, simply check the caseback of the watch or the technical specifications of the model.
