Milano Straps, always sensitive to the issue of sustainability and the ways in which a luxury product should be produced and distributed, has decided, in its small way, to contribute to the growth of an Eco-Luxury Positive economy.
Recently launched, the MSLabStraps line is a new series of eco-friendly NATO fabric straps made by recycling post-consumer plastic bottles collected in Northern Italy.
From one recycled plastic bottle, two MSLabStraps NATO straps are made.
Through a mechanical, non-chemical recycling process that is 100% Made in Italy certified throughout its fully traceable supply chain, the plastic from the bottles is shredded and transformed into high-quality, high-performance recycled polyester yarns for textile use.
The production of 1 kg of Newlife®, for the same quantity of virgin polymer, allows a reduction in energy consumption of 60%, CO2 emissions of 32%, and water consumption of 94%.

Yes, compatible with 20mm and 22mm lug width cases. Most sports watches and field watches fall within this range, but the fit depends on your specific case — if you’re uncertain, check the lug width on your watch documentation. On a 20mm case you’ll be tight, on a 22mm you have some breathing room.

It also impacts color retention over time and the controlled stiffness required for serious military use. It’s not the same nylon as any other strap.
How rough is it? In the style of those old vintage military straps, or is it softer?
It has that tactile texture of military nylon when worked with care — so compact and dense. We wouldn’t call it soft: it’s a tool, the surface is designed to sit on your wrist, not to caress. But it’s not rough in an annoying way; craftsmanship makes the difference.
Does 316L steel hold up in the sea or against aggressive sweat, or does it end up oxidised after a month?
316L stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and designed specifically for aggressive environments — salt water, sweat, harsh climates. The buckle and rings won’t give you trouble. It’s the opposite of a price compromise: where durability matters, we haven’t cut anything.
Does the dark brown look poor under direct light, or is it bold enough to have character?
It’s a deliberate choice, not a washed-out gray. Neutral enough to work with any dial — it’s there to support the watch, not to steal the spotlight — but decisive enough to have its own character. You’ll see the difference between this and a washed brown.
