Handmade in Italy Selected leathers

Lizard leather allows for no half measures. Its dense, tight, almost geometric grain has a precise direction—and lime green enhances it without concealing it. A color that works equally well on white or black dials, that holds up to steel and complements yellow gold without asking for permission.

The Italian tanning process treats the surface to resist humidity without altering the natural texture of the reptile. Each strap is made from a different hide: the color variation between pieces is not a defect—it is proof that there is no seriality in this process. A thin profile, 2.5mm, for a low fit under the lugs and a clean feel on the wrist.

Available in four width combinations to precisely fit your watch lugs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this lizard behave with sweat and humidity? I wear it in summer, I don’t want it to deteriorate after two months.

Italian tanning applies a water-repellent treatment that protects the surface without masking the natural grain of the leather. It resists humidity while preserving the reptile’s texture intact — it is not a varnish that suffocates the material. That said, it remains living leather: sweat and water should be wiped away when they occur, as you would with any quality strap.

I have a watch with 20mm lugs — is it enough to buy the 20×18 version, or do I need to check more carefully?

The 20mm width refers to the lug width. We offer four available combinations: 19×16, 20×18, 21×16, 22×20. If the lug is indeed 20mm, the 20×18 is the primary candidate — but the second number is the width of the strap’s shorter end, which depends on how your watch is constructed. If you are uncertain about the lug geometry, measure carefully before ordering.

Is this lime a stable colour, or does it tend to fade? I like how vivid it is, but I don’t want it to become dull within three months.

The lime lizard does not change because Italian tanning preserves the colour of the leather without applied layers that wear away. Sun exposure always brings a slight natural patina — this happens to any leather — but it is not fading. What you receive will be what you have years from now.

Is the 2.5mm thickness really low enough to allow the strap to sit flat under the lugs?

2.5mm is restrained, yes. It is not microscopic: you can feel that it is leather, it has body. But it is calculated not to create bunching under the lugs and to sit cleanly on the wrist without the bulk that some thick straps leave behind. If you wear most of your watches on slim straps, you will appreciate the profile. If you are accustomed to 4mm straps, this will feel different.

You say every hide is different — but how different are we talking? Could I receive a piece whose colour I don’t like?

Every lizard skin has natural variations in tone and grain concentration. No two pieces are identical. If the variation falls within the natural range of the lime lizard — and it should — it reaches you as is. It is not a defect to be exchanged: it is the result of working with a living material. If you have very precise chromatic preferences, it is best to discuss them before ordering.
