Cordovan is not cut—it is split. Derived from the fibrous layer of the horse's rear, it is one of the few leathers that has no grain: its surface is compact, homogeneous, almost mirror-like. It resembles no other leather.
This brown Shell Cordovan strap is made without side stitching, a choice that is not aesthetic but structural. The material is already intact enough not to need it—adding stitches would be redundant, almost a distrust of the leather itself. The profile is clean, taut, with a geometry that suits a 1970s dress watch as much as a contemporary three-hand watch.
Over time, cordovan does not wear out: it polishes. Wrist creases—those that become cracks on other leathers—here round into soft reliefs that tell of use without succumbing to fatigue. The flexibility is real, not a concession to softness: this leather folds and returns.
Each piece is made from a single panel of leather. The brown shade may vary slightly from piece to piece—this is not a defect, it is the direct consequence of working with a raw material that is never identical to itself.

Shell cordovan doesn’t soften: it compacts. With wear it develops a deep lustre no polish can imitate, and the warmth of your hand tends to close its marks. Leather for a lifetime.

Changing your strap should be as simple as changing your shoes. With us, it is.
Every strap has integrated quick-release spring bars: swap it in one gesture, no tools, no risk of scratching the lugs. The same watch shifts mood with the moment.
Picked for you
Shell Cordovan has a compact, uniform fibrous structure that doesn't require lateral reinforcement. Stitching on a cordovan strap would be superfluous, not an enhancement. Durability comes entirely from the material, not construction — which is precisely why we chose to keep it clean.
That’s exactly its strength. Where other leathers develop cracks, cordovan forms rounded creases that stabilize and polish themselves over time. It’s not uncommon for a cordovan strap worn for years to look more refined than when new — the patina builds uniformly, without visible deterioration.
Shell Cordovan is a restricted, non-standardized raw material: each panel has its own density, color absorption, and finishing response. Differences between pieces from the same batch can be noticeable — slightly warmer or darker tones. This isn’t a production inconsistency, but the nature of the material itself. Those who choose cordovan already know this.
The seamless profile and contained 2.9mm thickness make it particularly at home with dress watches or thin-cased pieces — a Longines, a Tissot, a Seiko SARB. It also works with three-hand sports watches seeking contrast between case robustness and strap refinement. Available widths in 20mm and 22mm cover most contemporary classics.
