Handcrafted in Tuscany, every stitch is visible because it is meant to be. Tanning, cutting, finishing: three distinct steps, three workshops, one singular result. The tapering profile from 4mm to 2mm distributes weight on the lug with a precision that can be felt on the wrist from day one.
Designed specifically for the Nautilus — lug width 26mm x 18mm — it integrates seamlessly. The chosen blue is not random: deep enough to appear black in certain environments, yet recognizable enough to never be entirely so.

It is designed specifically for Patek Philippe models with 26mm × 18mm lug width, the characteristic measurement of the Nautilus. It can adapt to other watches with the same lug geometry, but the lug curve and strap profile are optimised for the Nautilus. Is the matte finish on alligatore more delicate than polished? How does it hold up over time?
Matte is no more fragile than polished — it is simply treated differently during tanning. It does not reflect light, but absorbs time better than you might think: micro-scratches tend to integrate into the texture rather than become evident as they do on polished leather. For maintenance, a neutral conditioner specific to alligatore applied sparingly every few months is sufficient. Avoid waxy products that alter the matte finish.
Why are the dimensions listed as 115mm × 75mm and not the standard 120mm × 80mm measurements I find on other straps?
The 115mm × 75mm measurements reflect the specific geometry of the Nautilus, which has a case and original deployment buckle with proportions different from classic sports references. The longer side covers the back of the wrist with precision, without exceeding. If you wear the watch on a particularly large or small wrist, let us know: we also work on custom sizes.
What does it concretely mean that ’colors may vary slightly’ — how visible is the difference between one example and another?
Louisiana alligatore is a natural leather: the distribution of pigment during tanning interacts with the biological structure of each individual example, producing shades that no industrial process can eliminate. In practice, you might receive a midnight blue with a slightly cooler or warmer dominant tone, or with a variation in intensity on the central scales. This is not a production error — it is what distinguishes a handcrafted strap from one in synthetic leather.
