Not an off-the-shelf strap: the lug attachment is an integral part of the case design, with lugs forged in continuity with the octagonal bezel that do not accept conventional straight spring bars. A strap is entirely possible, but it must be built bespoke, directly on the watch by <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, with the lug dimensions taken from the actual case in the atelier. The result is a strap that integrates into the case architecture without visual or functional compromise.

The watch is brought to the atelier in person, where the master craftsman takes the lug dimensions directly from the case — profile, curvature, descent angle, width at head and tail. Based on these measurements, the strap is cut, shaped and finished by hand, without adapting an existing standard. Leather, colour, finish and buckle type are chosen together, with the watch in front of you. The process takes time, commensurate with the complexity of the work.

Mississippi alligator with a glazed finish is the most coherent choice: its flat scale texture echoes the octagonal geometry of the bezel and responds to the polished surfaces of the rose gold case. For a more restrained contrast, matte alligator balances the visual weight of the gold without diminishing it. Box calf tannage végétal is the choice for those who want a strap that develops patina and character through daily wear.

A strap crafted from first-grade leather, hand-stitched and correctly finished can last many years, provided basic care is observed: avoid prolonged exposure to water and perspiration, rotate straps where possible, and treat the leather with appropriate products. Longevity also depends on the leather type: alligator and crocodile are among the most resilient due to fibre density; box calf ages gracefully, developing patina over time. A properly made strap is not a consumable — it is an accessory that matures alongside the watch.

The AP calibre 2885 concentrates four high-order complications within an automatic movement: minute repeater, split-seconds rattrapante chronograph with column wheel, perpetual calendar and moon phases. The coexistence of a rattrapante and a minute repeater within a single calibre is one of the most demanding challenges in mechanical watchmaking, as both systems share space and energy within the movement. The perpetual calendar is mechanically programmed to account for leap years without manual correction until 2100. It is one of the most complete expressions ever to emerge from the Le Brassus manufacture.
