On this Royal Oak, the bracelet is integrated directly into the pink gold case. There is no standard lug to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The only viable route is the bespoke one: I build the attachment from scratch, working directly on the watch in the atelier.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. Bring the watch: I take measurements directly from the case, study the geometry of the lugs and shape every component by hand. There are no pre-made templates — each strap is built from scratch on that specific piece.

For this model I go without hesitation for Mississippi Alligator. Pink gold has a warm chromatic temperature, and the Royal Oak carries a sporting-elegant character that alligator reads well: the scale texture engages with the Tapisserie guilloché dial without overpowering it. If something more lived-in and informal is preferred, Vintage Tuscan Leather ages beautifully and develops real character with wear.

With ordinary care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure and conditioning the leather every few months — a properly crafted strap comfortably reaches ten years and beyond. Alligator tends to hold its structure over time; Tuscan leather patinas, softens and becomes increasingly personal. That is not deterioration — it is the material coming to life.

Gérald Genta drew it in a single night in 1972, and you can still feel that tension today. The octagonal case, the bezel with eight exposed hexagonal screws, the integrated bracelet — everything works together to form an object where nothing is decorative in the conventional sense. I have seen many watches over years at the bench: very few have this coherence between form and structure.
