The right strap isn't chosen. It's built together.

Il cinturino giusto non si sceglie. Si costruisce insieme.

The appointment was at half past ten. The leather had arrived from the tannery two days earlier — a full side of French calf, still carrying the faint smell of the drum. By eleven, it had been placed on the worktable in Via XX Settembre, unrolled under daylight, so that every grain variation could be seen with bare eyes before a single cut was made.

This is where a bespoke strap begins. Not with a catalogue. Not with a screen. With a piece of leather, a watch, and a conversation.

The appointment

You come to our atelier in Milano with your watch. We look at the case shape, the lug width, the curvature where metal meets skin. We talk about how you wear it — whether you prefer a strap that softens quickly or one that holds its structure for months. These details cannot be guessed from a photograph.

Then comes the selezione della pelle. We keep a working archive of hides — French calf, Russian calf, hand-painted patina, vintage deadstock, goat, and several others that rotate with the seasons. You choose from the actual piece that will become your strap. What you touch is what you receive.

Fifty passages, four weeks

A single strap passes through more than fifty steps between cutting and final stitching. Edge painting alone takes three separate applications, each one dried and sanded before the next. The thread is waxed by hand. The holes are punched individually, never drilled, because a punch displaces the fibre instead of breaking it.

From the day of your appointment, we ask for four weeks. Some orders take less. We do not rush any of them.

What leather does over time

Good calf develops a surface patina within the first month of wear. The colour deepens unevenly — darker where the wrist bends, lighter where the leather rests flat against the clasp. After six months, the strap has become entirely yours: shaped to your wrist diameter, marked by your specific chemistry. This is something no synthetic material will ever do.

We build every strap to hold its integrity for at least eighteen months of daily wear. Many last far longer. When one eventually reaches the end of its life, you will know — and you will also know exactly where to come back.

If you already know what you want

Our current collection includes ready-made straps in the same leathers we use for bespoke work, finished with the same fifty-step process. They ship within days. They are not a compromise — they are simply made to our proportions instead of yours.

But if you want a strap that is built around your watch and your wrist, there is only one way.

Come to Via XX Settembre. Bring your watch. Choose the leather from the hide itself.
