The right strap isn't chosen. It's built together.
Il cinturino giusto non si sceglie. Si costruisce insieme.
The first of fifty passages is always the quietest. We listen. Your wrist has a specific circumference, a way of bending, a temperature it runs at through the day. Your watch has a lug width measured to the tenth of a millimetre, a case weight that shifts the balance of leather against skin. Before a single cut is made, we need to understand all of this — and more.
That conversation happens in person, at our atelier in Via XX Settembre, Milano. Not over email, not through a form. An appointment gives us the unhurried time to sit across from you, examine the watch on your wrist, and begin mapping the strap that does not yet exist.
Then comes the selection of the leather. We keep our hides in the workshop, not behind glass. You choose the skin by touching it — feeling its grain, its weight, its resistance between your fingers. Leather is a living material, and no two cuts behave the same way. A French calfskin tanned with vegetable extracts will darken gradually over months, absorbing the oils of your skin until it carries a patina that belongs to no one else. A hand-finished leather from a Tuscan tannery might start with a matte surface and slowly develop a quiet sheen. We explain these trajectories so you choose not just what the strap looks like today, but what it will become.
From there, the work is ours. Over fifty passages — cutting, skiving, edge-painting, hand-stitching, shaping — the cinturino takes form across roughly four weeks. Each step is done by hand in the same workshop where you sat for your appointment. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is rushed.
What you receive is a strap built to the exact dimensions of your watch and your wrist, in a leather you selected yourself. Properly cared for, it will serve you well for eighteen months or longer — aging the way good leather should, growing softer and more personal with every week of wear.
If you already know what you want and prefer not to wait, our current collection offers finished straps in the same leathers, made with the same method, ready to ship.
But if you want something that answers only to your wrist — we are here.
