The Zenith El Primero was developed in 1969 as one of the first automatic chronograph movements. The El Primero caliber 4047 integrates chronograph functions with a column-wheel, small seconds, date, and moon phases. The movement operates at a high frequency of 36,000 vph for precision to the tenth of a second.
