The El Primero was introduced by Zenith in 1969 as the first high-frequency automatic chronograph movement. It features the El Primero 4047 caliber with column-wheel chronograph, small seconds, date, and moon phase functions. The movement operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour, ensuring tenth-of-a-second precision for chronograph measurements.
