To verify correct measurement, place a ruler on the inner surface of the lugs: the spacing must be exactly 22mm to ensure compatibility without excessive play.

Strap selection depends on intended usage context. For diving and water use, a vulcanised rubber strap is supreme for resistance to salt elements and thermal stability. For urban and formal wear, a high-hold leather in vegetable-tanned alligator offers refinement and durability. To change the strap, obtain a spring bar removal tool in stainless steel. Position the watch on a soft surface with the underside facing upward. Insert the tool tip into the small lateral hole adjacent to the lug pin, applying steady pressure to compress the internal spring and release the pin from the case seats. Repeat the operation on the opposite side. Once the pins are freed, remove the previous strap and install the new one, ensuring the pin is fully seated in the case.

All straps with 22mm lug width are compatible with the Seiko Prospex SRP777. This includes natural leather of various thicknesses, cotton or nylon NATO straps, technical rubber straps, and variants in shell cordovan or alligator. A high-quality leather strap, treated with vegetable tanning, maintains structural integrity for 3-5 years of regular use. Durability depends on frequency of use, humidity exposure and maintenance. To extend service life, we recommend alternating the leather strap with rubber or NATO solutions during humid seasons, and periodically treating the leather with natural wax or protective oils.
