Strap for Prospex Diver SBDX014G Titanium / Black

The Seiko Prospex Divers SBDX014G features a lug width of 22mm. This measurement, taken between the attachment pins on the case, determines the maximum width of any compatible strap. All our 22mm straps fit this model perfectly without slippage or forcing.

For a 45mm stainless steel diver, we recommend vegetable-tanned leather straps (dark brown, burgundy, moro) for vintage elegance, or rubber and NATO options for technical practicality. Alligator is optional if you seek sophisticated texture. Choice depends on usage: frequent diving favours rubber; daily formal wear suits leather.

Remove the spring bars (elastic pins) using a spring bar tool, gently pushing toward the case centre from each side. Once extracted, slide off the old strap and position the new one, reinserting the pins into their sockets. Never force: pins must enter with precision without damaging the lugs.

Absolutely. Any quality-certified 22mm aftermarket strap is fully compatible. Simply verify that spring bars match Seiko's standard attachments and that width does not exceed 22mm, otherwise they will not fit the lugs.

A quality vegetable-tanned leather strap, with regular maintenance (salt rinsing, drying after immersion, annual conditioning), lasts 3–5 years under intensive diving use. In daily non-aquatic use, lifespan extends to 7–10 years. Vulcanised rubber lasts 4–7 years before losing elasticity.
