Strap for Nautilus 5713
Integrated bracelet: measurements, the most common questions, and the way to a made-to-measure strap.
Integrated bracelet
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5713/1G-001 is designed with a bracelet integrated into the case. For a compatible made-to-measure strap, the Casati Milano atelier builds it on your watch.

Frequently asked questions
Can a standard strap be fitted to the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5713/1G-001?
No. The bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The fitting is proprietary, conceived by Genta as part of the watch's own architecture. In the atelier I build each strap directly on the case, millimetre by millimetre.
How does the bespoke strap service work for this model?
I work by appointment only, at Casati Milano, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the white gold case, and build the fitting following the original curves. I do not work from photographs or declared measurements: the watch must be here, in front of me.
Which leather do I recommend for the Nautilus in white gold?
I prefer a natural Mississippi alligator, allowed to age gradually without forced colour treatments. White gold has a cool luminosity that pairs beautifully with a warm, lived-in leather. I avoid overly glossy or heavily treated skins: on a watch with this character, I look for continuity, not contrast.
How long does a well-made artisan strap last?
I have seen well-cared-for alligator straps last ten, twelve years of daily wear. Leather asks for very little: keep it away from standing water, condition it occasionally, let it breathe. It ages, of course — but it ages with character, moulding itself to the wrist of the person wearing it.
Is the Nautilus 5713/1G-001 truly a sports watch, or has it become something else?
Genta drew it in 1976 for someone who wanted a robust watch even with a dinner jacket. Today, with its annual calendar and moon phases, the 5713/1G-001 has taken a more contemplative direction. I see it as a refined dress watch that still carries its sporting origins inside, but no longer needs to announce them.
