Strap for Nautilus Power Reserve 3710

Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case: there are no standard lugs to attach an aftermarket strap. The only viable route is to build a bespoke attachment directly on the watch, at the atelier.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the geometry of the case and build the attachments by hand, shaping the leather millimetre by millimetre. There are no ready-made templates: every strap is built from scratch on that specific piece.

I would go with Mississippi alligator with symmetrical scaling. The Nautilus has a sporting soul but wears a jacket, and this leather ages with a dignity that synthetic materials will never achieve. The symmetrical scaling also works well with the precise geometry of the case — nothing is left to chance, neither in the watch nor in the strap.

With quality leather and minimal care — keeping it away from water, letting it breathe, not folding it at the same point repeatedly — we are talking five, even eight years of daily wear. Good leather does not deteriorate: it transforms. After a few years it carries the marks of the person wearing it, and for me that is the most honest result of a job well done.

Adding a power reserve indicator to a Nautilus is a bold choice: the porthole case designed by Gérald Genta in 1976 is already a complete architecture, difficult to alter without breaking the balance. Patek Philippe integrated this complication without disrupting the original character of the model. I have seen many watches where the power reserve is used as decoration — here it genuinely serves a purpose, and it shows.
