Three primary options are recommended for the TT1: vegetable-tanned alligator or calf leather (cognac or deep brown hues) for formal-sporting contexts, nylon-satinised NATO in grey for tactical practicality, or FKM rubber for high-humidity environments. Selection depends on primary use case: track work or workshop activity favours rubber; evening elegance requires naturally-tinted leather.

Employ a spring bar tool or manual extractor to withdraw the elastic retention pins connecting the original strap to the lugs. Align the holes of the new strap with the lug eyelets and insert the pins, confirming secure engagement on both sides. Should the replacement strap exceed 2.2 mm in thickness, minor initial friction may occur, which dissipates after wear.
