For formal-nautical wear, we recommend vegetable-tanned alligator in grey or black, or white-cream perlage calf that creates contrast against dark dials. Use a spring bar tool (specialized instrument with bifid tip). Position the watch on a soft surface. Insert the bifid tip inside the lug to compress the internal spring bar. Gently extract the bar, then the old strap. Insert the new strap aligning one side, introduce the bar, release compression to secure.
