The Oris Aquis 01 733 7730 4185-Set RS features a 20mm lug width, standard in professional Swiss diver watches. This width is determined by case geometry and the requirement for secure anchoring under stress. To verify compatibility, measure the distance between the two spring bars on the case: it must be exactly 20mm. An undersized strap will slip; an oversized strap will not fit into the case lugs.

The choice depends on intended use. For formal aesthetics: alligator leather or vegetable-tanned calf. For authentic water sports: woven polyamide NATO strap or vulcanised rubber, which resist moisture and provide maximum security. The spring bars on the Aquis case are accessible from the back of the current strap. Use a spring bar remover tool (approximately 1.5mm) to compress the pin from one side, gently levering until it exits the case groove. Repeat on the other side. To install the new strap, insert the pins into the case lugs and press until they click into position. If the pins are stiff, do not force: a drop of light oil facilitates movement. Perform this operation on a soft surface (towel) to prevent scratching.
