To verify strap compatibility, measure the internal distance between the lug shoulders with a digital calliper. A 24mm strap must slide into the lug without lateral play and without forcing.

It depends on your usage. For professional diving and saltwater environments: vulcanised rubber (FKM or nitrile), neutral and virtually indestructible. For elegant daily wear: alligator in vegetable tanning, deep blue or brown. For maximum versatility: NATO in 1000D Cordura canvas, military grey. Your choice should balance the technical character of the ceramic case with practical maintenance requirements.

Remove the watch from your wrist. Use a spring bar tool to extract the strap terminals from the side of the lug. Insert the flat tip under the small integrated metal lever on the terminal, press gently upward and pull the terminal out. Repeat on the other side. For the new strap, thread its terminal into the lug, then use the spring bar tool to reinsert the locking lever. Apply pressure until you hear a slight click.

A high-quality vegetable-tanned leather strap (alligator or Tuscan calf) will last 3–5 years with daily wear and regular maintenance. If you wear the Aquis in frequent diving or marine environments, durability drops to 1–2 years due to humidity and salt water. Vulcanised rubber has no theoretical wear limit, degrading after 7–10 years of UV exposure. Replacing the strap every 2–3 years is normal in diving watch ownership, not a defect.
