The Elka X03-0901 features a lug width (strap attachment width) of 20 millimetres. This is the precise distance between the two lug ends where the strap attaches to the case. Verifying this dimension is critical before purchasing an aftermarket strap, as non-conforming sizes (19mm, 21mm) will cause abnormal flex and accelerated case wear.

There is no universal answer; selection depends on intended use. For formal elegance: black or brown alligator with vegetable tanning. For refined daily wear: structured calf leather with subtle texture. For intensive and outdoor use: NATO in Cordura or Croslite rubber. Remove the watch from your wrist. Use a spring bar tool to gently lever the spring-loaded pins that retain the strap at each lug. Insert the new strap by aligning its holes with the pins, pressing until you feel the engagement click. Verify that both sides are positioned symmetrically.
