To honour the functional ethos of the BESSSM1OR1, we recommend vegetable-tanned Tuscan leather straps, which develop a natural patina over time. Tuscan cognac is the balanced choice: its organic texture harmonises with the stainless steel case. If you seek more dramatic grain, Japanese shell cordovan offers a tight weave and profound colour development during aging.

To change a strap on a 22mm lug width: 1) position the watch on a soft pad; 2) use a spring bar tool (available at specialist retailers) to gently push the bar inward, gripping the spring; 3) extract the bar from the lug seat; 4) repeat on the opposite lug. Insert the new strap by aligning the hole with the lug and press the bar until it clicks. Avoid excessive torque to prevent damaging the internal spring.
