Strap for Royal Oak Concept Black Panther Flying Tourbillon

Not in the conventional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case and the lugs are designed as part of the structure itself — a standard strap simply does not attach. What I do in the atelier is build the strap directly around this watch, shaping the attachments by hand on the actual case.

I work by appointment only, at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study every curve of the lugs and build the strap around the case — not the other way around. There are no templates: every piece starts from scratch.

I prefer Mississippi Alligator in dark tones — near anthracite or deep black. The natural texture of the scales works with the ceramic bezel and sandblasted titanium case without softening the technical, aggressive character of this watch. I am not looking for soft contrasts here — I am looking for coherence with what AP built.

A strap built with first-grade leather and solid stitching easily lasts five, eight, even ten years if treated with care. Leather ages — it develops a patina that tells the story of use, it does not simply deteriorate. I recommend keeping it away from prolonged contact with water and conditioning it with neutral wax every few months.

The Concept was launched in 2011 as an open laboratory: the skeletonised movement is fully visible and the case geometry is far more extreme than the classic Royal Oak. This is not an aesthetic evolution — it is an engineering decision pushed to its limits. When I study these lugs at the bench, I can see how every millimetre was calculated to resemble nothing else.
