Domande Frequenti
I have a Submariner 16610 from the ’90s and I don’t know which pin diameter to order — how can I be sure?
The 16610 uses 1.5mm on solid lugs (non-drilled). If you see completely smooth lugs without holes, you’re good with this diameter. In your order write the exact reference (16610 with no other suffixes) and I’ll verify: it’s the transition where Rolex stopped drilling, so there’s no ambiguity.
Can I use the same spring bars on a vintage 5513 and a modern 16610?
No, they’re completely different: the 5513 has drilled lugs at 2.0mm, the 16610 has solid lugs at 1.5mm. They’re two entirely different generations of watch construction. You need to order the right set for your model, and specify the reference so I don’t risk sending you the wrong diameter.
My new 126610 has 21mm lugs — will these spring bars work anyway?
Yes, this set also covers the modern 126610 with its 21mm lugs and 1.5mm pins. It’s one of the changes Rolex made recently: almost all 20mm before, now 21mm. State the reference 126610LN (or LV) and I have everything I need.
How can I measure the pin diameter if I don’t know the exact year of my Submariner?
Honestly? It’s hard to eyeball without tools. Better to give me the case reference (it’s stamped on the caseback of many Rolex watches) or describe the lug appearance to me — if you see holes where the pins go in, it’s almost certainly 2.0mm. If they’re solid and smooth, it’s 1.5mm or 1.8mm. With this information and the serial number we can clear up any doubt.
