Premium Swiss Standard PVD Buckle crafted from Swiss-grade watchmaking steel, carefully finished and plated using PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technology.

Features

  • Swiss-grade watchmaking steel
  • Vacuum-deposited PVD plating technology
  • Matching closure pin included
  • Available in 5 sizes (14, 16, 18, 20, 22mm) and 4 finishes
  • Deep color consistency and wear resistance
  • Clean, elegant, timeless geometry

Four finishes

  • Stainless Steel — natural brushed/polished finish
  • Black PVD — matte black PVD coating
  • Yellow Gold PVD — yellow gold PVD coating
  • Rose Gold PVD — rose gold PVD coating

Designed for both vintage and modern watches. PVD plating offers greater durability than traditional electroplating: the coating is applied under vacuum, not via surface electrolysis.

The joy of little things

Changing your strap should be as simple as changing your shoes. With us, it is.

Every strap has integrated quick-release spring bars: swap it in one gesture, no tools, no risk of scratching the lugs. The same watch shifts mood with the moment.

What is the difference between PVD plating and traditional galvanic plating?

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is applied under vacuum at controlled temperatures: the metal evaporates and deposits on steel as an integrated crystalline layer, not as a simple surface coating. Traditional galvanic plating is electroplating: the layer bonds much less securely and wears away in a few months on contact surfaces. A PVD buckle maintains its finish for years of daily use.

Does an 18mm buckle fit any 18mm strap?

Yes, the measurement indicates the width at the buckle (the narrow part of the strap, the side that enters the buckle). Most modern straps have taper 20/16, 22/18, 24/20mm — so a strap with 22mm lug width will generally have an 18mm buckle. Check your strap’s taper: the width at the buckle is what matters, not the lug width.

Does PVD plating scratch? How long does it last?

PVD layer hardness is around 2500-3500 HV (compared to ~200 HV for bare steel), so it resists surface scratches far better than traditional plating. Under normal use (bumps against tables, cuff edges, etc.) it holds its finish for years. It is not indestructible: against hard metallic abrasives or violent drops it can mark, like any other finish.

Does PVD gold lose color with sweat or water?

No. PVD yellow gold or rose gold is chemically stable, does not oxidize and does not react with sweat, fresh or salt water, common cosmetic products. It is the same technology used on high-end sports watches. Avoid only aggressive chemicals (industrial solvents, bleach) for cleaning.

Is the pin the same material and finish as the buckle?

Yes, every buckle includes a matching tongue pin — same finish, same Swiss-grade steel, same PVD plating where applicable. It is designed as a cohesive set on the wrist, not a component to be matched separately.
