Won't the Velcro® wear out after a year of daily use and stop closing properly?
No. We have tested hundreds of openings and closings: the original Velcro® Brand closure we use performs like day one. It is not a linear degradation. Naturally, it depends on how you treat it — ripping it violently every time is different from a controlled gesture — but the material holds. That is why we chose it over other more economical solutions.
I will put it on a MoonSwatch and then try it on my Seamaster. Does the continuous Velcro® adjustment allow me not to start from scratch?
Exactly. There are no predefined holes. You pull, position the strap where it needs to be, close it. If your wrist changes from one week to the next, or simply between summer and winter with a different shirt, you are not locked in. It is one of the reasons why Velcro® is not a shortcut — it is an intelligent choice for those who do not want to be stuck with five fixed positions and nothing more.
If I have to go through airport security, does the Velcro® cause problems with metal detectors?
