Handmade in Italy Selected leathers

Ostrich leather is not chosen to impress. It is chosen because nothing else has that texture — the quills emerging from the surface, irregular and precise at the same time, transform each strap into a unique piece. No two skins are identical. No two pieces are identical.

The gray of this strap is neutral without being anonymous. It keeps pace with classic and contemporary dials, without overpowering them. Italian tanning gives the leather immediate softness — no breaking-in needed — but its character consolidates over time, bearing traces of use as marks of belonging.

Crafted in Italy by artisans who have known ostrich leather for generations. The profile tapers towards the buckle, following the geometry of the wrist without forcing it. Color variations between individual pieces are not defects: they are the material's signature.

Gray Ostrich Strap

Its raised follicles are never two alike: you recognise it at a glance. Soft and resilient at once, with natural oils it stays supple and gains sheen where the wrist works it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is every ostrich really different? Isn’t it just a marketing story?

No, it’s literal. The ostrich has quills — those protrusions you see on the surface — and they grow in a naturally irregular pattern on the skin. Every animal, every area of the skin is different. Two straps from the same batch are not identical. It’s the material itself that doesn’t allow it. If you’re looking for geometric uniformity, ostrich is not for you. If instead you want a piece that is genuinely unique, this is it.

Does it need breaking in or does it arrive soft right away?

It arrives soft. The Italian tanning ensures the leather is already pleasant on the wrist from day one — no stiffness to wait out. What happens later, with time and use, is different: the character consolidates, accumulates the marks of your wrist. But comfortable immediately, yes.

I have an 18mm lug — what width should I choose?

For lug width 18mm, we have 18mm/16mm — meaning 18mm at the spring bar that fits the watch pins, 16mm where it rests on the wrist. The proportions are balanced for that dimension. If you’re unsure about your watch’s lug width, measure the distance between the two pins that hold the strap.

Is that grey cool or warm? Does it work well with dark dials?

It’s neutral — it doesn’t lean toward blue or brown. That’s why it holds up with both classic and contemporary dials without subordinating itself to them. With dark ones? Yes, it works. The idea is that the strap shouldn’t compete with the watch. Stay behind. One thing: remember that every piece has natural tonal variations, so if you see one in a photo, the one you receive might have slightly different nuances.

If I wear it every day, how long will it last? And how does the appearance change over time?

Ostrich leather is robust. The thickness is 2.5mm, it handles daily use without issue. How it changes: it accumulates the marks of your wrist, of the life you give it — signs of belonging, not deterioration. The grey may develop patina over time. It’s not dirt, it’s history. If you’re looking for a strap that always stays brand new, this one isn’t designed that way.
