Handmade in Italy Selected leathers

Vintage leather is not invented. It is achieved through a handmade process that leaves the marks of its creator on the leather — brush strokes, irregular shading, a surface that tells its story even before being worn.

This dark brown vintage leather strap is made from selected leather, handcrafted in Italy. The distressed finish is not an aesthetic effect added at the final stage: it is the direct result of the manufacturing process, which gives each piece a unique personality. With time and use, the leather continues to evolve, darkening at stress points and progressively softening on the wrist.

The fit is immediate. The contained thickness — 2.5 mm — makes it light even on thin cases, without compromising its structure. A strap that works equally well on a dress watch or a vintage tool watch, without any fuss.

Every hide is unique: color variations from the reference images are an integral part of the material's nature, not a defect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this distressed effect added afterwards, like an applied patina, or is it actually the result of the craftsmanship?

It is the direct result of the craftsmanship. It is not an aesthetic effect added in the final stage — the hand-brushing and the way we work the leather create those irregular nuances and marks. Each piece is different because it depends on how the hands have built it. With use, it continues to evolve: it darkens at the points of tension, it softens on the wrist.

I see it in dark brown in the photos, but how much can the colour really vary from one piece to another?

The chromatic variations compared to the images are part of the nature of the material, not a defect. When you work vintage leather by hand, every hide has its own story. We know it can be frustrating if you are looking for total uniformity, but that is what you are looking for when you want something tactile and true.

At 2.5mm it is thin, but does it hold up on a heavier watch or is it only for a dress watch?

The slim thickness makes it light even on thin cases, without losing structure. It works well both on a dress watch and on a vintage tool watch. It is not a question of the watch’s weight — it is that this strap does not need to be massive to stand on its own. It depends on what you want: if you are looking for a strap that you do not feel on the wrist, this does the job.

How do I figure out which width to choose? I have a watch with a 20mm case.

The available combinations are designed to adapt. With a 20mm case, the options are 20mm/16mm or 22mm/20mm. The first figure is the lug width, the second is the width towards the buckle. It is not complicated, but if you have any doubts about the specific compatibility of your watch, it is better to check first.

How does this leather age? If I buy it, what will it look like in a year?

It continues to evolve with time and use. It darkens at the points of tension — where the wrist stresses it the most — and it softens progressively. It is not static like certain straps. Vintage leather responds to your use and to the years, that is the point of choosing it.
