The thread used for the white stitching is selected for strength and colour retention over time. On a leather strap that naturally tends to darken with use, the white contrast remains legible without requiring maintenance. It is a technical choice before an aesthetic one.
The 22mm × 20mm and 24mm × 22mm versions are designed specifically for large diameter cases. The contained thickness of 2.9mm avoids the bulky effect that certain heavy leathers create beneath an already substantial case. The strap accompanies the case, it does not compete with it.
The asymmetric length — 115mm on the long lug, 75mm on the short — and the 2.9mm thickness make it suitable for continuous use. Italian leather tends to improve over time, developing its own patina. This is not a strap to be preserved: it is made to be worn every day.
On a watch with narrow lugs — typically a dress watch or a vintage timepiece — the 18mm × 16mm variant maintains elegant and discreet proportions. The larger sizes, up to 24mm × 22mm, change the character of the strap: more presence, more visual mass. The choice depends on the watch, not on the wrist.
