Handmade in Italy Recycled polyester

Three colors that don't compromise: the olive green background, the orange edges, and the thread that holds them together. A strap made from recycled material but with nothing provisional about it — 100% regenerated polyester provides a compact, resistant texture, with a flat drape on the wrist that conventional nylon often doesn't guarantee.

The 316L stainless steel buckle and loops are the correct choice for a military strap: no oxidation, no weakening over time. The contained thickness of 1.5mm also makes it compatible with low-profile watches, without creating annoying unevenness under the lugs.

Made in Italy. The universal width of 20-22mm makes it suitable for most sports and military calibers in production today.

WHAT WE DID

Milano Straps, always sensitive to the issue of sustainability and the ways in which a luxury product should be produced and distributed, has decided, in its small way, to contribute to the growth of an Eco-Luxury Positive economy.

Recently launched, the MSLabStraps line is a new series of eco-friendly NATO fabric straps made by recycling post-consumer plastic bottles collected in Northern Italy.

From one recycled plastic bottle, two MSLabStraps NATO straps are made.

Through a mechanical, non-chemical recycling process that is 100% Made in Italy certified throughout its fully traceable supply chain, the plastic from the bottles is shredded and transformed into high-quality, high-performance recycled polyester yarns for textile use.

The production of 1 kg of Newlife®, for the same quantity of virgin polymer, allows a reduction in energy consumption of 60%, CO2 emissions of 32%, and water consumption of 94%.

Domande Frequenti

But if it's recycled, why doesn't it feel fragile? What's the difference compared to a normal nylon NATO?

It's a question we get often. The 100% regenerated polyester here isn't a shortcut — the texture comes out compact and resistant, with a flat drape on the wrist that conventional nylon often can't deliver. It's not about 'lucky it's recycled', it's a deliberate material choice. You'll feel it when you wear it.

316L stainless steel — does it really matter, or is it marketing?

On a military strap that might contact sweat, salt, moisture — it matters significantly. 316L doesn't oxidize and won't fail over time. If you rotate this strap or use it in extreme conditions, the buckle and rings need to hold without surprises. It's not marketing, it's the correct choice for this kind of object.

I'm interested in it for a watch that isn't particularly large — does the 1.5mm thickness avoid that 'cushion' effect under the wrist?

Exactly. The contained thickness is designed precisely for low-profile watches, so it doesn't create annoying unevenness when worn. If you have a sport or military caliber that dislikes thick straps, this maintains proper proportion.

Is this 20-22mm width really universal as stated? How does it work?

The lug width is 20mm, the strap adapts to watches with lugs between 20 and 22mm — so the vast majority of sport and military calibers in circulation today. If your watch doesn't fall in this range, it won't work. Check before ordering.

27cm is the total length — but I have a large wrist. Can I still wear it?

The total length is fixed, it's not adjustable. It's a standard measurement that covers most wrists, but if yours is particularly large, you'll need to test it first before ruling it out. It's the compromise of the military NATO — it's not a custom strap, it's an accessory built to work.
