Recycled polyester is not a compromise. It is a precise technical choice: stable under tension, resistant to moisture, capable of maintaining its shape where other materials fail. This military strap is made from 100% recycled yarns, processed in Italy with the same attention given to leather models.

The brown palette with orange edges doesn't seek visibility — it achieves it through contrast. A balanced combination, suitable for field watches or any case that deserves more than an anonymous strap. The slim 1.5mm thickness ensures wrist comfort without sacrificing structural integrity.

Buckle and loops in 316L stainless steel: the same grade used in watchmaking. No oxidation, no failure over time.

The joy of little things

Changing your strap should be as simple as changing your shoes. With us, it is.

Every strap has integrated quick-release spring bars: swap it in one gesture, no tools, no risk of scratching the lugs. The same watch shifts mood with the moment.

Domande Frequenti

But does recycled nylon really hold up over time, or is it one of those eco stories that crumbles after six months?

It’s not greenwashing. The recycled polyester here is chosen for concrete technical reasons: tensile stability and moisture resistance. Where leather or canvas on certain watches fail — I’m thinking edge deterioration, summer deformation — this nylon maintains its shape. Obviously it’s not like a shell cordovan Horween, which has a different story altogether. But we’re not trying to imitate leather here: we’re leveraging what recycled nylon does well. Contained thickness at 1.5mm, 316L buckle like those on 5000-euro watches. It doesn’t give.

Orange on the edges: is it something you don’t really notice, or do you end up with a strap that clashes?

It depends on the watch, as always. Brown with orange edges works through contrast — it’s not a random pairing. If you have a case that sits right on the wrist (field watches, vintage, clean lines), that orange touch enters into dialogue without shouting. If instead you’re after total discretion, it might be too present. Here’s the thing: we don’t have ‘neutral’ versions of this model. It’s calibrated this way. If you want to feel how it sits on your specific watch, the best way is to see it.

The 20mm size is right for my watch, but how do I know if the total length of 27cm will fit me properly?

27cm is the total strap length. With a standard buckle, you typically use about 24-25cm at the wrist, the rest is the lug width and closure. If you wear other straps and feel comfortable, this should work. But it’s not something to guess at: it’s one of those details where feel matters. If you’re between sizes usually, or if you have a particular wrist, reach out directly — better to clarify before receiving something that doesn’t fit.

I care about durability, but also not getting dirty every time it rains. Does this nylon hold up?

Yes, it’s one of the strong points. Moisture-resistant by definition — it’s nylon, doesn’t absorb like canvas. You won’t have trouble cleaning it. The buckle and rings are 316L steel, the same used in watchmaking: no oxidation, no failure over time. Saltwater or sweat don’t corrode it. The orange edge doesn’t fade because it’s part of the yarn, not a dye applied on top. It’s a strap that ages well precisely because it has no pretensions — the opposite of cheap nylon that yellows after a summer.

Is it truly Made in Italy, or is it one of those cases where they say Italy for the design?

Production Italy. It’s not a marketing question here — Milano Straps has been around since 1984, the workmanship is established in-house. Recycled yarns processed in Italy, the same attention they reserve for leather models. It’s not outsourced. If the detail matters to you, it counts for the price and how the strap is constructed.
