Selected leathers
Suede doesn't have the sheen of box calf, nor the texture of barenia. It has something else: a velvety surface that absorbs light instead of reflecting it, and that improves with every hour worn. The vintage brown of this strap is not a color chosen to please everyone — it's a shade that ages discreetly, gaining depth over time.
At 2.5mm thick, it lies flat on the wrist without creating bulk under the edge of the case. Suede, unlike smooth leather, quickly adapts to body temperature — you don't feel the strap, which is precisely the point. Ecru stitching traces a precise line along the edges: a subtle contrast that echoes sartorial tradition without overemphasizing it.
Crafted in Italy, this strap is designed as an everyday companion for watches with a classic or sporty-elegant character: an perpetual calendar, a vintage chronograph, a slim dress watch. Available in three lug widths to fit different cases.
Each piece is made from selected leathers: color variations from the images are part of the material's nature, not a defect.

It lives on light and touch.
It shifts tone depending on how you brush it: the short nap moves with the light. It marks, and those marks become its story. Kept away from water, it stays with you for years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does suede hold up to daily wear or is it sensitive to moisture?
Suede is more sensitive to water compared to smooth leather: intense rain or heavy perspiration can leave temporary marks. For moderate daily use it performs well, but it is preferable to reserve it for dry contexts. If you are seeking a strap for sports activities or humid climates, rubber is the most suitable choice.
Do ecru stitches remain clearly visible over time or do they tend to darken?
Ecru thread maintains its tone over time, though extended use can impart a slightly warmer patina to it — consistent with the aging of brown suede. This is not deterioration: both elements evolve together, making the strap increasingly personal.
How do you distinguish the correct size between 20mm, 22mm and 24mm?
The correct measurement corresponds to the lug width of your watch — the internal distance between the lugs of the case. This measurement is usually indicated by the watch manufacturer in the manual or on the official website. If in doubt, a digital caliper applied to the lugs gives the exact measurement in seconds.
What type of buckle does it come with and can it be replaced?
The strap comes with a standard pin buckle, consistent with the vintage aesthetic of the product. The buckle is replaceable: Milano Straps offers separate buckles in various finishes and materials, available for separate purchase to further personalise the pairing with your watch.
