The Heritage

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas represents the sporty collection of the Geneva manufacture, characterized by the hexagonal bezel design. The model is equipped with the automatic caliber 5100 with indication of hours, minutes, seconds and date. The case features the characteristic integrated bracelet typical of luxury sports watches.
Made to Measure

The strap for this watch is made to measure

On the Vacheron Constantin Overseas the bracelet is drawn as part of the case: no catalogue strap will fit. In the atelier we take the measurements on the watch itself and build the strap on the piece — that is the work of Casati Milano.

FAQ

Can a standard strap be fitted to the Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V-110A-B146?

No. The bracelet is integrated into the case: the attachment is proprietary and a standard strap simply cannot connect. This is a design choice, not a limitation. In the atelier I build every strap directly on the watch, working from the actual geometry of the case.

How does the bespoke strap process work for this model?

I work through Casati Milano, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I take measurements directly from the case at the bench — no templates, no approximations. The strap is made for that specific watch and no other.

Which leather do I recommend for the Overseas?

For a watch built to be worn — travelling, at dinner, away from the city — I favour naturally aged Barenia. It absorbs light without chasing it, and develops a patina that tells the story of use. It is the only leather that keeps pace with the Overseas without ever looking out of place.

How long does a well-made strap last?

A strap worked from full-grain leather with solid stitching easily lasts five or six years of daily wear. Quality leather does not deteriorate — it transforms. I always ask clients to let it breathe, avoid prolonged contact with water, and apply a neutral cream two or three times a year. Time does the rest.

When was the Overseas introduced, and what truly sets it apart?

Vacheron Constantin launched the Overseas in 1996 as its response to the luxury-sport segment. What I find most considered is the total integration between bracelet and case: the alternating polished and satin links are not an accessory — they are architecture. Removing the bracelet and replacing it with a strap is not a modification; it is a reinterpretation that demands the same rigour as the original construction.

The next step

The right strap isn’t chosen. It is built, together.

From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
