The Heritage

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso ref. 2608441 is the Reverso Classic Small in stainless steel with silver dial and ostrich leather strap. Created in 1931 for polo players, this iconic Art Déco timepiece features a reversible case with rectangular geometry and pure lines. The 21mm non-standard lug width requires bespoke craftsmanship to ensure perfect integration with the case architecture.
Made to Measure

The strap for this watch is made to measure

On the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso the bracelet is drawn as part of the case: no catalogue strap will fit. In the atelier we take the measurements on the watch itself and build the strap on the piece — that is the work of Casati Milano.

FAQ

Can a standard strap be fitted to the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso 2608441?

No. The bracelet is integrated into the case and the attachment is proprietary: a standard strap simply has no way of connecting. The only solution is a bespoke strap built directly on the watch. That is what I do in the atelier, one piece at a time.

How does the bespoke strap process work for this Reverso?

I work on this model exclusively through Casati Milano, by appointment, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the case, and build each strap from the actual geometry of the lug. There are no shortcuts: every millimetre is checked by hand before cutting the leather.

Which leather do I recommend for the Reverso?

For a watch with this geometric structure and this history, I prefer hand-aged Barenia. It has a restraint that suits the squared Art Déco lines without overpowering them. It ages with character, developing a patina that tells years of wear — and that is what a watch built to last deserves.

How long does a well-made strap last?

With quality leather and basic care, I expect ten years of regular use, often more. A few simple habits are enough: keep it away from prolonged exposure to water and let it breathe between uses. Good leather does not deteriorate — it transforms, and over time it becomes more beautiful than when it was new.

Why does the Reverso case flip over?

The function was born in 1931 to protect the crystal during polo matches: the case was turned on its carriage and the dial stayed sheltered from impact. Today that mechanism no longer serves the same purpose, but it remains one of the most recognisable gestures in twentieth-century watchmaking. Every time I feel it click at the wrist, I understand why certain details never age.
