How does the custom strap work for the Octo?
I work by appointment only. I take the watch in hand, study the angle of the octagonal case and model each attachment to integrate perfectly. I measure from the titanium itself, not from lists — every case speaks its own language.
Which leather do you choose for this model?
I prefer Mississippi Alligator for formal elegance — it holds the Octo's geometry without weighing it down. If you love seeing it age, Barenia is the choice: the sporty titanium dialogues better with leather that patinas over the years.
How long does a well-made strap last?
A strap built with care lasts 7–10 years of daily wear, provided you treat it with respect. Leather ages — it darkens, gains character. Just occasional cleaning and don't leave it wet. After that, if you've bonded with the strap, you prefer building a new piece rather than discarding it.
Why does the integrated bracelet require special attention?
Gérald Genta designed it as a structural element, not an accessory. The Octo lives by that octagonal geometry — if the strap doesn't respect the case's angle, the whole architecture collapses. For this model I accept no approximations.
