The right strap is not chosen. It is built together.
Il cinturino giusto non si sceglie. Si costruisce insieme.
A watch strap arrives in a box. You open it, you fit it, you wear it. The transaction is complete before you have even touched the leather. We work the other way around. At our atelier in Via XX Settembre, the process begins with a conversation — an appointment where nothing is sold, and everything is understood.
You bring the watch. We study the case shape, the lug width, the weight on the wrist. We listen to how you wear it — whether it travels with you, whether it meets water, whether it sits beneath a cuff or in plain sight. These details are not decorative. They determine the leather, the thickness, the stitching, the edge finish. They determine everything.
Then comes the selection of the leather. Not from a swatch card — from the hide itself, examined by hand under natural light. You feel the grain, the density, the way it responds to pressure. French calf has a warmth that deepens over months. Russian leather carries a firmness that softens gradually, moulding itself to the wrist without losing structure. We keep a small, considered inventory. What we do not have, we source directly from the tanneries we trust.
From that point, the work moves to the bench. Over fifty passages — cutting, skiving, layering, shaping, hand-stitching — each cinturino takes form across roughly four weeks. There is no way to accelerate this. The adhesives need time. The edges need repeated finishing. The leather itself needs rest between steps, the same way wood needs to settle before a joint is closed.
What you receive is not simply a strap that fits your watch. It is a strap that fits your wrist, your habits, the precise angle at which the case meets skin. And because the construction is sound — because nothing has been rushed or substituted — the leather will age with clarity rather than fatigue. We stand behind every piece for eighteen months, though in practice, a well-made cinturino outlasts that promise by years.
If your watch already has the right movement, the right case, the right dial, it deserves a strap built with the same deliberation. For those who prefer to browse our ready-made collection, every piece follows the same method — the same fifty passages, the same leather, the same hands.
But the bespoke route begins differently. It begins with your wrist on the table and an unhurried conversation in Milano.
