The Zenith El Primero was introduced in 1969 as the first high-frequency automatic chronograph movement. The El Primero 4046 caliber integrates chronograph, alarm, power reserve indicator, and adjustable dual time zone functions. The movement operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour with a column-wheel for the chronograph control.
