Frequently asked questions

Can you fit a strap on this Zenith El Primero?

No, the bracelet is integrated into the case. The attachment is proprietary – a standard strap won't fit. In the atelier I build the strap bespoke, directly onto the case.

How does the bespoke strap work for the El Primero 03.2530.4047/78.M2530?

We work only at Casati Milano, by appointment. I take measurements directly from the 46mm case, then hand-model the lugs because every tenth of a millimetre matters on a chronograph of this calibre.

Which leather do you recommend for the El Primero?

I prefer Mississippi Alligator or Barenia. This watch has a technical, sporty character: the leather must hold its own with grace, age well under your wrist, and never look fragile next to 36,000 vibrations per hour. Alligator has the right severity.

How long does a well-made strap last?

It depends on your wear. A strap in good leather, with basic care (avoid stagnant water, let it dry naturally), lasts 10–15 years. If you wear it daily, you accelerate ageing, but that's what we want: the leather tells your story.

Why does the El Primero since 1969 still stand out?

The movement: 36,000 vibrations per hour means measuring the tenth of a second. I've seen dozens stripped down at the bench. It's the first high-frequency automatic. Not nostalgia – it's architecture. Every time you watch it run, you notice that precision.

The next step

The right strap isn't chosen. It is built, together.

From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
