The Unimatic Modello Uno U1-BTP features a 22mm lug width, measured internally between the case lugs. This parameter determines compatibility with all aftermarket straps. It is the most versatile standard in contemporary watchmaking, providing access to an extensive selection of leather, fabric and rubber strap options.

We recommend vegetable-tanned leather straps for the U1-BTP, particularly in black or dark brown. These materials reflect the watch's minimalist philosophy, developing a natural patina over time with regular wear. Alternatively, neutral-toned NATO straps maintain the instrumental character without overwhelming the design.

Changing the strap is straightforward: remove the original strap by pulling it laterally to extract the spring bars from the lugs. Insert the spring bars into the new strap, aligning the holes, then press until you feel the locking click. No specialist tools are required for models with standard push-fit spring bars.

All straps with a 22mm lug width are compatible with the U1-BTP. This includes vegetable-tanned leather, alligator, calf leather, vulcanised rubber, technical fabrics and NATO straps. Compatibility is determined solely by the lug width parameter, regardless of strap material or aftermarket brand.

Longevity depends on material and frequency of use. A vegetable-tanned leather strap of quality, using Tuscan tanning methods, will maintain structural integrity for 3–5 years of daily wear.
