The lug width of the Tudor Style 12113-0027 is 20mm, a historical standard for elegant 28mm watches. This dimension allows superior constructive proportionality and requires straps with maximum thickness of 1.5mm to ensure proper adhesion to the soldered lugs.

Natural alligator leather in vegetable tanning represents the primary choice: its geometrically defined grain dialogues perfectly with the two-tone case and mother-of-pearl dial. As alternatives, vegetable-tanned calf offers minimalist elegance, whilst shell cordovan creates bold chromatic dialogue with the yellow gold case.

Remove the strap using a spring bar tool, positioning the extraction pin in the small slot of the spring bar, then extract the pin from the lugs. Repeat for both sides. To install the new strap, insert the spring bar into the slot of the new strap, press the pin downward, align the lug, and release the pin. Verify that both ends of the spring bar are securely anchored.

Any strap with a 20mm lug width is constructively compatible. However, we recommend selecting straps with maximum thickness of 1.5mm to avoid crimping on the curve of the lugs. Avoid NATO and textile straps: the constructive elegance of the 12113-0027 warrants noble materials such as alligator, calf, or shell cordovan in vegetable tanning.

A premium leather strap (alligator or shell cordovan) in vegetable tanning has an average lifespan of 5-8 years with daily use, provided regular maintenance and protection from prolonged moisture. Calf tends to show signs of wear more rapidly, averaging 3-5 years. Vegetable tanning develops natural patina, imparting aesthetic fascination to the aged strap.
