To change the strap, you need to remove the spring bars. Use a dedicated tool, such as a professional strap changer, to avoid breaking the spring bars. Position the tool in the lug notch, apply gentle pressure to release it, then remove the old strap. Insert the new strap by aligning the holes with the top lug, then snap the bottom lug into place. If inexperienced, we recommend having a qualified watchmaker perform this operation.

The lifespan of a leather strap depends on the material, tanning method, and usage. Vegetable-tanned alligator lasts 5-8 years of regular use whilst ageing beautifully. Vegetable-tanned calf has similar longevity. Shell cordovan can last 10+ years. Synthetic tanning straps last less, typically 2-3 years.
