The optimal strap for the M1/03 depends on intended use. For daily wear, vegetable-tanned leather with 4-5mm thickness and full grain finish in dark tones (brown, black, grey) is recommended. For tactical and sporty performance, a reinforced 20oz NATO in navy blue or graphite grey reduces visual mass whilst maintaining constructive integrity. For formal occasions, hand-dyed alligator leather offers precious texture whilst preserving artisanal atmosphere.

Changing the M1/03 strap requires removal of the spring bars using a spring bar remover tool. Position the tool on the spring bar, gently extract by pushing upward, then remove the lug from the watch. Repeat on the opposite side. To install the new strap, insert the spring bars into the specific holes of the new lug, press the bar into the watch case hole until it clicks into place.
