Strap for Prospex Diver SSF001J1 Titanium / Blue

The Seiko Prospex Divers SSF001J1 features a lug width of 24mm. This is a non-standard size requiring specifically compatible straps. Do not attempt to use universal straps of different widths, as they will not seat correctly in the titanium case lugs.

We recommend an alligator strap with vegetable tanning, which creates elegant contrast with the brushed titanium case, or fine-grained calf leather for a softer texture. For intensive aquatic environments, an FKM rubber or dense nylon NATO strap ensures superior water resistance and salt durability.

To change the strap, use a spring bar tool (a specialized tool with two flat ends) to release the elastic pins connecting the strap to the case. Insert the tool into the lateral slots of the pins, push inward, and remove the old strap. Insert the new strap by aligning the holes with the pins, then press until you hear a locking click.

Durability depends on material, usage environment, and maintenance. An alligator strap with vegetable tanning lasts 3-5 years in daily wear, developing a sought-after patina. Fine-grained calf resists 2-3 years. If frequently exposed to salt water, service life diminishes. Rubber straps have no biological limit but lose elasticity after 5-7 years.
