The SRPD03 features a lug width of 22 millimetres. This standard measurement is taken perpendicularly between the centre of the upper lug and the centre of the lower lug on the case. Verifying this dimension prior to purchasing an aftermarket strap is essential to ensure compatibility and perfect fitment to the case lugs without play or undesired pressure.

Selection depends on intended use and aesthetic preference. For intensive aquatic environments and diving, vulcanised rubber or technical NATO straps are recommended. For formal wear maintaining instrumental coherence, dark brown vegetable-tanned calf or black pearl alligator emphasise the case's robustness. For visual continuity with the dial, navy NATO preserves the collection's diving heritage.

Use a dedicated spring bar removal tool to extract the elastic pins securing the strap to the case lugs. Position the tool in the pin's slot and gently press downward to compress the internal spring, then withdraw the pin. Repeat for the second pin. Insert new spring bars into the replacement strap and secure them in the case lugs ensuring complete seating.

Any strap with a 22-millimetre lug width is compatible with the SRPD03, regardless of material (leather, NATO, rubber, canvas). Quality of construction, water resistance for organic materials if the watch will be frequently exposed to moisture, and aesthetic coherence with the instrument are recommended considerations. Artisanal leather straps in vegetable tanning or alligator offer significant upgrades in material quality and stitching versus OEM alternatives.

Longevity depends on frequency of water exposure and maintenance practice. Vegetable-tanned calf regularly exposed to high humidity or frequent immersion develops structural deterioration or discolouration within 18-24 months. Alligator, with denser and more hydrophobic skin, may extend longevity to 2-3 years under similar conditions. For an SRPD03 intended for frequent diving, rubber or technical NATO are incorruptible materials unaffected by water or salinity.
