Strap for Nautilus 7018 Stainless Steel / Blue

No, not in the traditional sense. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment: a standard strap simply cannot connect — it is physically not possible. For this reason, every strap for this Nautilus is built to measure, directly on the watch, in the atelier.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. You bring the watch: I take measurements directly from the case, study the geometry of the attachments, and build the strap around that specific piece. There are no pre-made sizes or templates for work of this kind.

For a watch with this character — sporty in shape, elegant in substance — I prefer a smooth calf with a semi-gloss finish or fine-textured alligator. Both suit the dual nature of the Nautilus well: comfortable on a bare wrist in summer and equally at home beneath a shirt cuff. I avoid overly rustic materials, which clash with the precision of the case.

A strap built properly, with quality leather and solid stitching, easily lasts five or six years of daily wear. The leather ages: it softens, takes on the shape of the wrist, and develops a patina that tells the story of time. The only real care required is keeping it away from water and letting it dry away from direct heat when it does get wet.

Gérald Genta drew a porthole case that resembled nothing else at the time. That geometry — the integrated lugs, the bracelet that flows from the case without interruption — is still difficult to replicate without the difference showing. I have seen dozens of variations over the years: none has that same structural coherence. The 7018/1A-010 carries that same formal logic in a size conceived for a finer wrist, without compromising anything.
