Integrated bracelet: measurements, the most common questions, and the way to a made-to-measure strap.
Integrated bracelet
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 7018/1A-001 is designed with a bracelet integrated into the case. For a compatible made-to-measure strap, the Casati Milano atelier builds it on your watch.

Frequently asked questions
Can a standard strap be fitted to the Patek Philippe Nautilus 7018/1A-001?
No. The bracelet is integrated into the case with proprietary attachments: no standard strap will fit. That was Gérald Genta's original design choice, and it deserves to be respected. The only viable option is to build a bespoke attachment directly on the watch, in the atelier.
How does the bespoke strap service work for this Nautilus?
I work by appointment only, at Casati Milano, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the case geometry and shape the lugs by hand, curve by curve. There are no standard sizes: every piece is built from scratch on that specific watch.
Which leather would I recommend for this model?
For a steel Nautilus, my preference goes to Veau Swift in cool tones — slate, midnight blue, anthracite. It is a compact, fine-grained leather that sits well against polished steel and does not compete visually with the case. The Nautilus already has a strong personality: the leather should accompany it, not overwhelm it.
How long does a well-made strap last?
With quality leather and solid craftsmanship, I count on five to seven years of daily wear. Care makes a real difference: a little nourishing cream every three months and keeping the watch away from water will extend the strap's life considerably. Well-tanned leather ages with character — it takes on the creases of the wrist, shifts in tone, and truly tells time.
What makes the Nautilus geometry special compared to other sports watches?
The octagonal porthole case is not just a shape: it is an architectural system in which case and bracelet merge into a single volume. Genta designed it in 1976 with an engineering logic that came before aesthetics. In this 33.6mm steel reference that geometry remains untouched — nothing has been softened to make it more commercial. That is precisely why any craft intervention on this watch demands an uncommon level of precision.
The next step
The right strap isn't chosen. It is built, together.
From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
