Integrated bracelet: measurements, the most common questions, and the way to a made-to-measure strap.
Integrated bracelet
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 7010/1G-012 is designed with a bracelet integrated into the case. For a compatible made-to-measure strap, the Casati Milano atelier builds it on your watch.

Frequently asked questions
Can a standard strap be fitted to the Patek Philippe Nautilus 7010/1G-012?
No. The bracelet is integrated into the case: there is no standard lug to attach a traditional strap to. This is a design decision, not a limitation — the Nautilus was conceived this way. Fitting a strap requires bespoke work at the atelier, directly on the watch.
How does the bespoke strap service work for this model?
I handle this type of piece exclusively through Casati Milano, by appointment, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I take measurements from the actual case at the bench — not from a diagram — and build the attachment millimetre by millimetre. There are no shortcuts when the work has to be done properly on a watch like this.
Which leather do I recommend for the Nautilus in white gold?
My preference is for naturally aged Barenia. It is a leather that changes over time, gains character with wear, and holds up well against white gold without overpowering it. For something more structured, Mississippi alligator in tobacco or slate tones works very well with the porthole case shape.
How long does a well-made artisan strap last?
With reasonable care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure, letting it breathe between wears — a quality leather strap easily lasts five to seven years. Barenia improves with age, developing a patina that reflects use. Low-quality leather breaks; the right leather transforms.
Was the Nautilus genuinely designed as a sports watch?
Yes. Gérald Genta drew it in 1976 with the idea that it could be worn beyond formal settings — the porthole shape references ship hatches. This white gold reference at 32mm takes that same concept and carries it into a more refined, more elegant register. The sporting character is still there, but it expresses itself with considerably more restraint.
The next step
