Strap for Nautilus 5724 Rose Gold / Brown

The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there are no standard lugs to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The attachment geometry is proprietary, designed to continue the case line without interruption. In the atelier I build the strap to measure, working on the physical watch itself, not on generic dimensions.

I work through my <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a> atelier, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch into the workshop, take measurements directly from the case, and build every attachment by hand, millimetre by millimetre. There are no ready-made templates for a piece like this.

My choice goes to naturally aged Barenia. It has a structured softness that works well with the sporting yet elegant character of the Nautilus, and the amber tone it develops over time pairs naturally with the warmth of rose gold. It is a leather that tells time rather than hiding it.

With minimal care — keeping it away from water and letting it breathe — a quality leather strap lasts comfortably five, even ten years. Good leather does not deteriorate: it transforms, takes the shape of the wrist, becomes more personal. What I often see is that clients do not replace it because it wears out, but because they want to try something different.

In 1976 Gérald Genta drew a case where the bracelet and the watch are a single body, with a sculptural continuity that still has few equals today. It is not merely an aesthetic choice — it is a statement about how to build a watch. When I work on a piece like this, that coherence demands that I do not stop until the strap too belongs to the same idea.
