No. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment: no standard strap will fit. There are no reliable adapters I would recommend. The only proper solution is to build a strap to measure, directly on the watch, in the atelier.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. The watch comes to the bench and I take measurements directly from the case — it is the only way to build an attachment that works properly with the Nautilus geometry. No templates, no guesswork: everything is done on the original piece.

My preference goes to naturally aged Barenia. The Nautilus sits between sporting and formal, and Barenia follows that balance well: understated at first, then it develops a warm patina that grows alongside the rose gold in a completely natural way. Mississippi Alligator is a solid alternative for those who want stronger visual texture, but personally I would choose Barenia.

With reasonable care — keeping it away from water and letting it dry if it gets wet — a Barenia or Alligator strap will comfortably last five to seven years. The leather does not deteriorate: it ages. After a few years the Barenia will have taken the shape of the wrist, and that is when it becomes truly interesting.

Gérald Genta drew it in 1976 thinking of something that could sit on the wrist beyond the office — the porthole shape and the rose gold case still tell that dual story. I have seen this watch worn daily, and it holds up well. The fact that it is built in rose gold does not make it fragile: it makes it more distinctive, but the original character of the design remains entirely intact.
