No. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment: no off-the-shelf strap will fit without intervention. It is an architecture designed to stay as it is, and I respect that. If you want a strap, I build it to measure directly on the watch, in the atelier.

I work exclusively through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take the measurements directly from the case, and shape the attachment by hand until the integration with the lugs is precise. There are no pre-made templates for this kind of geometry.

I have a clear preference: Barenia. The Nautilus has a hybrid character — sporting in its design, formal in its soul — and Barenia follows that same logic. It ages with consistency, developing a patina that does not shout but is noticed. Mississippi Alligator is a strong alternative for those seeking something more structured on formal occasions.

With minimal care — keeping it away from water, letting it breathe between wears — a well-built Barenia or Alligator strap lasts easily five to eight years. Quality leather does not deteriorate: it changes. It gains tone, memory, character. It is one of the few things that genuinely improves with time.

Patek closed production of the 5711 with this very version, in 2021. The olive green was an unusual choice for a watch that had spent decades in blue and grey. I have seen many Nautilus references on the bench over the years, but this dial has a different depth depending on the light — it is not a flat green. It was a farewell that was anything but quiet.
