Strap for Panerai Radiomir 1940 PAM00558

The PAM00558 features wire lugs with a width of 26mm. To verify it, position a millimeter ruler parallel to the case diameter at the point where the strap meets the lug: the internal distance between the two holes must be exactly 26mm. A margin of error exceeding 0.5mm would result in strap attachment failure or lateral oscillation of the strap.

For the PAM00558 in rose gold, we recommend alligator leather in cognac or dark brown tones, which amplifies the color contrast with the warm metal. Alternatively, vegetable-tanned aged calf leather emphasizes the instrumental aesthetic. A black or navy NATO strap is the ideal tactical choice for diving, protecting the case from skin contact. For exclusively elegant use, FKM rubber with calf leather lining combines comfort and durability.

The PAM00558 uses standard spring bars with a diameter of 1.8mm. Remove the old strap by inserting a spring bar removal tool under the pin, toward the spring: the pin will retract, freeing the end from the case hole. Align the new strap (preferably 26mm lug width) with the holes, insert the spring bar from the bottom and press until you hear the attachment click. Verify with a slight tug that the strap is securely fastened.

Not always. The 26mm width is a necessary but not sufficient condition. The lugs of the Radiomir 1940 have a slightly rounded shape (curved at the tip) that requires straps with the same geometry.
