The lug width of this model is 21mm, an uncommon specification in contemporary watchmaking. Neither 20mm straps (which result in loose fitment at the lugs) nor 22mm straps (which force excessive strain) are compatible. Correct measurement is achieved using callipers positioned between the base of the upper and lower lug: the value must read 21.0mm ± 0.2mm.

Selection depends on intended use. For business-casual versatility, we recommend shell cordovan with vegetable tanning and natural patina development, or satin-finished alligator. For sport-technical application, a NATO strap in polyamide navy-and-black striping replicates diving heritage. If regular immersion use is planned, black FKM rubber remains the integrated solution without functional compromise.

The Oris Divers 65 employs a standard spring bar system. Position the watch on a soft support (microfibre cloth), locate the spring bar (small metal pin within the lug attachments), and use a spring bar tool to decompress the mechanism from one side, allowing strap removal. The procedure requires no case opening and can be performed independently with correct tools.

Only straps with precisely 21mm lug width specification are compatible. Our collections include leather (shell cordovan, Tuscan veal, alligator, veau lisse), fabrics (polyamide NATO), and technical rubbers (FKM). Always verify that product specifications state exactly 21mm—many aftermarket manufacturers produce only 20mm or 22mm, creating constructive incompatibility.

Under normal conditions (daily wear without systematic saltwater exposure), an artisanal Tuscan leather or shell cordovan strap lasts 18–24 months before replacement is necessary. If the Divers 65 is regularly used in humid or saltwater environments, lifespan reduces to 8–12 months. For intensive diving use, we recommend FKM rubber which resists degradation from prolonged marine exposure.
